Government executive agency
Assisted the Chief Executive and management team of a new executive agency to develop the agency's first business strategy. Practical help with implementation covered, for example: design of the organisation structure; brand development; internal communications; launch of the agency; and assistance with new service development and income generation.

Firm of solicitors
Advised a multi-office firm of solictors on the development of its strategy. Key outcomes included: closure of an unprofitable office; a new management structure; new initiatives on business development and marketing; and enhancements to internal communications.

Major trade association
Worked with the association's independent Chairman, Director General and a Working Group of members to design and facilitate a strategy review for a major trade association.Work involved: environment analysis; staff consultation; management of a programme of member and other stakeholder consultation; financial and cost analyses; identification of core activities; mediation with another collaborating association; and drafting of a summary of the strategy for consideration by the association's Council.

Leading quality printer
Advised the Chairman and Board of a privately owned printing group in Ireland on corporate and business strategy. Also assisted with organisational and management development (the company was awarded a training excellence award).

Professional institution
Guided a professional institution (with about 25,000 members) through the process of reviewing its rolling 5 year strategy. Working closely with the President and Chief Executive, the work included advising and supporting a number of member-led working groups focused on key issues facing the institution. Also mediated in discussions with an associated examining board on the future relationship between the two organisations.

Company promoting the UK
Assisted the management team of a high profile company responsible for the international promoting the UK as a location for a specific industry to prepare a new five year business strategy. The plan was successfully used with funders to secure ongoing financial support. It also guided the refocusing of the organisation's global activities.

Small trade association
Designed and faciliated a workshop with the Council with the objective of reassessing the association's strategy. The output identified three themes on which the association needed to focus. A strategy steering group was established to drive the implementation of an initial action plan.
